Hubby's Birthday

Haha...didn't know that planning a birthday celebration can be so tiring. My boyfriend's birthday falls on 28 Jul, so I planned to celebrate his birthday with him on 26 Jul (Sat).

Couple of weeks before 26 Jul, I have made a reservation at Ritz Carlton for a Relax Package. Package includes a 1 night stay @ Ritz Carlton Deluxe room, 45 min spa massage for 2 persons and American buffet breakfast as well. Upon confirmation of my reservation, I've called up Ritz Carlton to request for early check-in at 12 noon and arrange for a birthday cake to be send to my room on the night itself.

On 26 Jul, I've wake up early at 730am to prepare my mushrooms fillings (to make mushroom & cheese sandwiches). The mushroom fillings have to be chilled before seasoning.

At about 1030am, I started to boil the potates and chicken sausages to make a salad. Hai, didn't know it took such a long time to cook a few potatoes. Once its cooked, have to wait till its cold before I can season it with mayo and garnish it with lettuces.

Gosh!~ By the time all this is done, its already 1130am. (Bearing in mind I suppose to check in at 12 noon!). I have a quick shower(no time for make-up), left my house at 1205pm. I managed to hop on a cab and reach Ritz Carlton at appx 1245pm.

After check-in, the lady staff was nice to offer to help me with my bag to my room at #25 floor. However, thinking that I can manage it myself, I rejected her offer politely and proceed to take the lift myself.

Stepping into the lift, I pressed the button "25" and soon the door closed. In my heart, I was thinking "Wa!so good, even the lift is so advance till I don't feel that it is travelling up". The next minute, the lift starting moving up and stopped at 14th floor. Someone walks in and press button "3"(lobby area). Hai, so paiseh, it was then that I realised need to insert my room key into the keyhole to activate the lift to travel up! Alamak!~

Opening the door to my room, the view of the Singapore landscape was fantastic. Hee.. no time to explore the room facilities, quickly placed all my sandwiches fillings (mushroom, cheese, ham, chocolate chips) and my salad into the fridge and went to fetch my boyfriend at Marina, GV. When I reach GV, he is already sitting at one coner. As we walked to Ritz Carlton, he gave me a weird look. Hee... guess he kind of guess it le.

Back in our room, we started to make sandwiches for lunch. Heng ah... my mushroom & cheese sandwiches din failed me... hahaha.... my boyfriend actually like it. On the other hand, he commented that my potatoes & sauages salad have room for improvement. Despite saying this, he still finish the whole bowl of salad.

Finishing our lunch, we went for a walk at Singapore Flyer & Marina Square. Settling our dinner at Marina Square @ Waraki before heading back to our room. At 8 pm, the therapists came for our massage. Wo!~ massage was great (was aching all over after my Yoga lesson a few days ago).

After the massage ended, we sat back on the sofa and watched TV. Soon, at 930pm, the door bell rang. Hee.. my birthday cake request has arrived. He actually requested for a Cantonese birthday song!!! I dunno how to sing lor... so sang him a normal happy birthday song instead. Next year my birthday, I shall request for a Hokkien birthday song. :P

Hmm... I must say the mango cake is delicious. But dunno is a mango mousse cake or mango cheese cake. Hahahaha....

O ya.. almost forget to mention about Absolut Mango. My boyfriend is a mania collector of Absolut Volka (1 litre) series. Absolut Mango was only launched in Feb 2008. Heng .. with the help of a gal fren, I manage to grab one as a birthday gift for my boyfriend.

My company was hosting Family Day event on Saturday. Location: Sentosa Beach. It was suppose to be nice and exciting weekend, but turn out quite disappointing... hmmm... boring is the word! How boring can it be when 2 of the top 10 lucky draw prizes is tix to Singapore Flyer??? The Grand prize is a travel voucher worth $400 nia.

After the grand lucky draw, we proceed to watch "Song of the Sea". Hai... the quene was super long so after much thought, we decide to give it a miss and head home instead. I saw so exhausted that I drop dead once my head hit my pillow.

Went for my 1st lecture yesterday and got a shock when I received the lecture notes. See the picture on the left... Its 4 inch thick!!!! The best part is ... this module last for 2 mths only, which means the lecturer will finish this 4 inch of notes in 8 weeks.

Late Nite Shopping... Minds Cafe

Out for a late night shopping with a few frens after work on Friday. I managed to grab a pair of slippers @ URS. From PS, we shop our way to Centrepoint. Afterwhich, I'm totally exhausted. Heng, my gal fren's bf came to pick us up. It was nice of him to send me home (btw, i live in Woodlands) while my gal fren actually lives in Bukit Batok. So you see, its not 'shun lu' at all. Plus the fact that oil prices is shooting up like nobody business... Hee...was very grateful for offering me the ride home.

On Sat, I met a few polymates on for a catch up session. We went to Minds Cafe at Prinsep St. Played some board games and had some drinks and snacks there. Hmmm... it was pretty cheap, 6 of us @ $60 (nett price). However, though its cheap,I personally still prefer the other board game cafe @ Holland V or Clark 'key'... pardon my spelling. Hee... Reason is simple, its relatively more quiet and cozy too.

Coach Bag at 25% discount

Hee... I brought this Coach bag at S$496 (inclusive of handling + shipping charges) direct from US. In Singapore Takashimaya, its going at S$899.

Thanks to Cynthia (my dearest collegue cum frenz). She happens to come across this shopping spree on Singapore motherhood website. One of the mommies who is residing in US, post a thread online to help mommies get Coach bags at 25% discount based on price on the Coach website + NO sales tax.

In fact this 25% discount is a privilege for Coach VIP members. Hence with this shopping spree, I save S$899 - S$496=S$403 !!! Heard that this is a quaterly sales, hmmm... wondering what should I get next round of spree... Hee...
